Hot Spots – Certificate II in Hospitality or Certificate II in Retail

Our Hot Spots program is aimed at community members who are entering or returning to the workforce with a goal of moving into sustainable employment. DBCYP will be providing the opportunity to undertake either a Certificate II in Hospitality OR Certificate II in Retail over the next year!

  • Certificate II in Hospitality provides basic skills and knowledge for students to work as operational staff in hospitality establishments. This qualification provides pathways to work in various hospitality settings such as restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, cafes and coffee shops. This program is 10 weeks in duration + work experience.
  • Certificate II in Retail provides basics skills and knowledge for engaging with customers, communicating in the workplace, effectively working in a service environment, organisation, advise on products and services and identify and respond to security risks. It is the ideal starting point if you want to work with speciality retailers, supermarkets, department store and quick service restaurants. This program is 10 weeks in duration + work experience.

Alongside the excellent qualification, you will be linked with an employment coach who will provide 1-to-1 coaching, guidance through positive psychology and support into work. Also, you will be linked into our Stay Connected Job Search program, to help you get work and stay in work!!
